Having worked in corporate environments and as an independent consultant specializing in individual and group development both nationally and internationally, Stephen has a diverse background in human resources management and organizational development.

As an HR team member for a Fortune 500 company, Stephen specialized in labor relations and management development for corporate and line operations. In this role, he acquired experience in many facets of human resources including recruitment, contract negotiation and communications, as well as training and development.

As an organizational development consultant, Stephen has worked with corporate, government and non-profit organizations on a variety of projects including large group /system wide interventions, conflict mediation and strategic planning. Most recently, Stephen provided change management support on a number of significant projects related to merger and restructure initiatives. Stephen developed and delivered an extensive curriculum for the training of organizational development practitioners for a client with offices in both the U.S. and Europe.

Stephen has performed pro-bono work in strategic planning and staff development for a host of local non-profits including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Ronald McDonald House and The Center for Grieving Children.  He has also served as a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of Portland, working primarily with the Police Department on matters of employment and promotion.

Stephen holds a BS in Management from the University of New England, and an MA in Applied Social Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal, QC, Canada. He completed postgraduate studies at the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science in Alexandria, VA and the Gestalt International Study Center in Wellfleet, MA. He is a certified practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the MRG Leadership Development suite of assessments.

A life-long resident of Maine, Stephen is an avid motorcycle enthusiast and can often be found on two wheels exploring remote locations around the United States and Canada.
