Dr. Wendy Kjeldgaard is a skilled psychologist and teacher who has spent portions of her career in the clinical realm of psychology and as an instructor at universities, medical/mental health facilities and conferences. She has extensive experience providing psychotherapy, conducting psychological evaluations and offering career counseling to individuals as well as serving as an advisor to organizations. Dr. Kjeldgaard’s consulting capabilities include the completion of occupational assessments, leading specialized training sessions on various topics and trouble-shooting problems related to issues such as interpersonal conflicts amongst employees and problematic organizational dynamics.

Dr. Kjeldgaard’s unique experiences as a psychologist have allowed her to acquire the knowledge and skills to work with diverse people, companies and organizations. While she is comfortable advising in any industry, Dr. Kjeldgaard is especially experienced in the field of public safety where she provides post-conditional offer evaluations as well as promotional and fitness to return for duty psychological assessments. No matter what project she is engaged in, Dr. Kjeldgaaard uses psychological research, theories and interventions to inform her work. Her experience with behaviorally-based approaches, motivational enhancement and the exploration and improvement of interpersonal interactions and dynamics make her a valuable member of the SKH team.

Dr. Kjeldgaard received her BA in Psychology from Washington and Lee University and her MS and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology. She is a licensed psychologist in Maine, offers psychotherapy services on a part-time basis to students at Bates College and recently served on the board of the Eating Disorders Association of Maine. She resides in southern Maine with her husband, two children and sheep-dog.
